Set in the beautiful Creighton Valley, flanked by dairy farms, Smithfield Guesthouse offers guests home-away-from-home comfort and warm hospitality. The home is surrounded by a tranquil garden on a working farm. Since opening in 1999, the Guesthouse has accommodated local and international travelers as well as enthusiastic twitchers from far and wide in search of a lifer or two. From the kitchen, home-made dishes are lovingly prepared and shared at the long yellow-wood dining table. Meals are usually a communal affair. Breakfasts are often enjoyed out in the garden in summer. The home-stead originally built in 1908 and since added to, has 4 double bedrooms (2 en-suite). There are a further 2 en-suite garden cottages and a fully equipped one bed-roomed annexe (self-catering and wheel chair friendly) with views overlooking the distant Umzimkulu river. Guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy the garden, verandah, lounge and tv-rooms at their leisure.
